Rejections – Shapeways

Why was my model rejected?

There are several reasons why your model may have been rejected by our system. Here are the most common issues:

  1. Model is not manifold: This means that the model has holes or overlapping geometry. To fix this, ensure that your model is a closed mesh with no gaps.
  2. File type not supported: Only specific file types are accepted (e.g., STL, OBJ). Make sure your file is in one of the supported formats.
  3. Model exceeds size limits: Your model must fit within our size constraints. Check our guidelines for the maximum dimensions.
  4. Thin walls or details: If your model has features that are too thin, they may not be printed correctly. Review our guidelines for minimum thickness.
  5. Incompatible design for printing: Some designs may not be suitable for certain materials or processes. Ensure your model is optimally designed for 3D printing.

If you believe your model meets all requirements and was still rejected, you can reach out to our support team for further assistance.
