Vapor Smoothing: SF100 Machine Cuts Prices

Capacity Up, Prices Down – Second AMT SF100 Vapor Smoothing Machine Meets Growing Demand

March 14, 2025

Our successful return to the market has fuelled a growth in demand in a number of areas, especially for vapor smoothed parts. We are excited therefore to announce the acquisition of a second AMT SF100 machine, further enhancing our ability to deliver superior surface finishes.

What is Vapor Smoothing?

Our customers choose vapor smoothing for both aesthetic (the smooth, shiny surface can really make parts stand out) and functional (including reduced porosity and improved mechanical performance) reasons.

Using a controlled chemical vapor process, this method creates a smooth, sealed surface, making parts look and feel more like traditional injection-molded components. This is especially valuable for industries requiring high aesthetic and functional performance, such as automotive, healthcare and consumer goods.

Because the process is an automated, chemical process it can be used on complex geometries and parts with intricate features where physical and manual processes cannot reach.
