Super High Resolution from DIY 3D Printer

If you have been following the recent influx of DIY 3D printers you will notice that most, understandably are based on the RepRap but Junior Veloso has taken another route with his ultra high detail DIY 3D printer he is developing for sale. So how fine is the detail of the prints I hear you ask? Check these images out.

  If indeed he finally release a kit for around $1k (see his tweets) this will be a game changer..
  Or.. he will bought by a big manufacturer which will leave us with a.. RepRap.. again..
  My bet is on the latter.. :/

  It’s amazing what he accomplished with his DIY printer. But I wouldn’t buy one. Why? Because I assume that Shapeways will always buy new printers in the future which can print in better resolution and materials all the time. I bet this DIY printer can be updated but it would never reach the same quality as Shapeways offers. Anyone who would settle for “less” and who needs to mass-produce tons of models will be loving this DIY printer. 🙂
