Public Knowledge/Eyebeam Residency Program

Shapeways is proud to announce that we are sponsoring a residency program jointly hosted by Eyebeam and Public Knowledge.

The purpose of the Public Knowledge/Eyebeam Artist Residency is to make policy issues more engaging by creating a new work that raises awareness of an issue with the wider public, and compels people to investigate the issue further.

Issues to choose from include:

• Keeping the internet innovative and open
• Promoting creativity through balanced IP policies, including in the 3D Printing sphere
• Open and Accessible Technology
• Advocating consumers' rights in international forums

Applications are being accepted until June 28th, and the residency will start in September 2013. Read more about the open call and apply here.

ABOUT EYEBEAM: Founded in 1997, Eyebeam was conceived as a non-profit art and technology center dedicated to exposing broad and diverse audiences to new technologies and media arts, while simultaneously establishing and demonstrating new media as a significant genre of cultural production. Eyebeam primarily supports projects that have real-world impact and encourages work that is paradigm shifting within a large spectrum of genres. Eyebeam sees the concerns of Public Knowledge as central to a more open society.
