# Inaugural Queen’s Tech Meetup

Last night we were excited to be part of the very first Queen’s Tech Meetup. Organized by the [Coalition For Queens](http://www.coalitionforqueens.org/), a non-profit organization fostering a tech community in Queens, the event was jam packed!

Marleen, our COO, spoke about Shapeways, we met some passionate members of our community, and there was a chance for people to play with some of our [Creators](/content/creator/index.html) – like the [Sake Set Creator](/content/creator/sake-set/index.html).

It was awesome to meet Alexis Ohanian and hear the story of [reddit](http://www.reddit.com/) and we’re all really stoked on new playlist app [Songza](http://songza.com/) – where you can choose a playlist perfect for anything from “Soul BBQ in my backyard” and even “Getting Lucky”. Awesome!

The energy in the room was fantastic and the views from the Hunter Point rooftop were phenomenal, we even got a rainbow!

Thanks to Jukay Hsu and Ben Wei for organizing and we look forward to the next one. Maybe we can even host it in our LIC space!
