# 3D QR Code Creates Shadows for Sunny Sales

So QR codes are kinda clumsy and not the [most popular technology ever](http://picturesofpeoplescanningqrcodes.tumblr.com/) invented but add some fun with a 3D form creating shadows so the code is only visible during limited times of day and it becomes kinda clever.  A Korean supermarket used [ShadowQRcode](http://www.springwise.com/retail/seoul-retailer-3d-qr-codes-sun-deliver-discounts-quiet-times/) to create discounts only available between 12 and 1 pm with great success.. I always wanted to [3D print a sundial](/content/model/279548/chained-sundial.html) but this is close.
